well , the Sacred Ibis used to be resident , or may I say , Egyptian honorable citizens, for example , many temples have Ibis mummiesand I think , but NOT sure, they are the second mummified animal after the beloved cats .
Ibis were depicted in many Egyptian temples , tombs, and papyrus .
even more were described by many visitors like m Herodotus, Aristotle , and Strabo .
and described by the French campaign .
sadly the last time an Ibis was seen in Egypt was 1864

Was it for environmental reasons ? , Humans attacked them ?, or even Metaphysical reasons : God Thoth get disappointed by the new residents of the Holy land Kemet , so he left with his holy bird , as well as with his holy Baboon.
