Coptic writing is the 4th writing system used for the same Egyptian Language

Yup ,because
a- it’s the Native Egyptian language
b- it helped Champollion and others to decipher the Other Egyptian writing systems like Hieroglyphic , Heiratic , And Demotic
c- there are many important materials written in it like
Coptic liturgies, Christian Theological materials ,Apocrypha bibles , Egyptian History in Ptolemaic , Roman , Byzantine, and Islamic eras , philosophical , Gnostic , Paterology , and arts

should I learn Coptic ?
well yes if you are
Egyptian , interested in Egyptology or Coptology , studying the history or Theology or both of the 1st churches

so it’s easy to read just install a Coptic TTF ( True Type Font )

copy them into
c:\windows\fonts in Windows as administrator
/usr/share/fonts/TTF in Linux as root
in Mac use this app font book to install the fonts

IOS (I phone) I do NOT know because I don’t have one , but I think Google will help you better
you may just need to configure your browser to use a Coptic font ( in most cases you ‘ll NOT need to do anything )
in Opera >settings>Advanced>customize fonts >> standard font : chose a Coptic one I prefer Arialcoptic.ttf
in Firefox : edit >preferences > fonts and colors >advanced>proportional > and chose the font you like
in chrome : settings>customize fonts>standard font and chose what you like

How to make fedora Coptic enabled

1st I highly recomend to install mc specially for newbies by openning a terminal اولا انصح بتثبيت برنامج ال mc افتح ترمينال كما في الصوره you 'll have some thing like this ستجد الترمينال شئ يشبه هذا in it write اكتب بداخله su your root password كلمة السر للرووت yum -y mc then download that ttf file حمل ملف الخط التالي http://kame.danacbe.com/Fonts/ArialCoptic.ttf by writing عن طريق كتابة الامر wget http://kame.danacbe.com/Fonts/ArialCoptic.ttf you can either copy it using the command و يمكن ان تنسخها اما بالامر التالي mkdir /usr/share/X11/fonts/TTF cp ArialCoptic.ttf /usr/share/X11/fonts/TTF or use the mc - that is easier much easier- او باستخدام برنامج الام سي و هو اكثر سهوله type اكتب mc you 'll get the terminal something like this ستجد الترمينال تحول الي هذا الشكل you can use it for changing the directory copying moving and much more و يمكن استخدامه للتغيير بين المسارات و الفولدرات و النسخ و النقل و اشياء اخري to go to the other side use tab للتنقل الي الجهة الاخري استعمل زر تاب use the up arrow tell you find /.. استخدم الاسهم حتي تجد /.. click on it with mouse or just enter اما ان تضغط بالماوس او تستعمل زر الانتر so go find the bath و اذهب للمسار الاتي /usr/share/X11/fonts then press F7 to create a new folder اضغط اف 7 لصنع مجلد جديد just type TTF and enter اكتب TTF beware that TTF is NOT ttf ولاحظ حالة الاحرف press tab to go the other side اضغط تاب للذهاب الي الجانب الاخر use arrows to find the file استعمل الاسهم للذهاب الي الملف ArialCoptic.ttf press insert اضغط ملف انسرت press F5 to copy it to the folder TTF اضغط اف 5 now you shall be capable to read Coptic after restarting the x-windows هنا بالا مكان قراءة اللغه القبطيه بعد اعادة التشغيل 2- to write Coptic لكي تكتب بالقبطي download that file حمل الملف التالي http://www.moheb.de/download/cop with the command عن طريق الامر wget http://www.moheb.de/download/cop cp cop /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols or copy it using mc او استعمل برنامج الا م سي now write that command اكتب الامر التالي gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf you will have a word processor program called gedit that looks like that ستجد برنامج لمعالجة النصوص يدعي جي ايديت find the section that saids Section "InputDevice" ابحث عن هذا المقطع # keyboard added by rhpxl Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "us" Option "XKbOptions" "grp:ctrl_shift_toggle" and change it to و غيره الي Section "InputDevice" # keyboard added by rhpxl Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "us,cop,ara" Option "XKbOptions" "grp:ctrl_shift_toggle" you can also add any other language for example French use fr German use gr بامكانك اضافة اي لغه اخري تحتاجها press save close gedit احفظ و اغلق restart your box اعد تشغيل الجهاز and congratulations و مبروك جهازك اصبح قبطي you now have your box Coptic enabled reading & writing

• from you current OS empty a drive "partition" from the data you do NOT want to loose .
• من نظام تشغيلك الحالي افرغ البارتيشن من لابيانات التي لا تريد ان تفقدها
• use any disk partition tool to either delete that partition or format it into ext2 or ext3 file system .
• استعمل اي برنامج للبرتشه في تحويل نظام الملفات الي اي اكس تي 2 او 3 او قم بحذف البارتيشن

4-restart your box "computer" قم باعادة تشغيل الجهاز 5-when it's up press del - some PCs use F8 or F12 -to inter setup "bios" اضغط زرار دل او اف 12 او اف 8 حسب نوع الجهاز للدخول الي الست اب 6- mkae your 1st boot device is dvd/cd from the menu advanced bios settings اجعل جهاز الاقلاع الاول هو السي دي او الدي في دي 7- put the fedora dvd in the cd tray ضع اسطوانة فيدورا في السي دي 8- to save press F10 اضغط علي اف 10 لحفظ الاعدادات و الخروج من الست اب 9- it will restart الجهاز سيعيد التشغيل 10- no more talk just watch the pictures تابع الصور I recommend skip just to save time دوس علي اسكيب choose English and later you can add any language and keyboard اختر اللغه الانجليزيه و سيتم اضافة اللغات الاخري بعد ذلك you can leave it to DHCP server to give you an IP or put your IP بامكانك الاعتماد علي خادم الدي اتش سي بي او وضع الايبيهات يدويا choose your city by clicking on it's site on the map or choose it from the scroll menu اختار المدينه التي تقيم بها من الخريطه او من القائمه المنسدله write your root password It's very Important اكتب باسورد الرووت لانها مهمه here BE VERY CAREFULL كن حذرا جدا otherwise you may loose your data stored in the hard disk و الا فقدت بياناتك there is many option in the slide menu فهنا العديد من الاختيارات 1- you may choose th remove all Linux partition that is OK if you do not have any other Linux installed and it's active only if you have Linux partition تختار ازالة كل بارتيشنات اللينوكس و استعمالها في هذا التنصيب 2- use empty space to create Linux partition that is OK and active only if you have empty space on your HD استعمال المساحه الفارغه علي الهارد ديسك 3- remove all partition and use it all for Linux it's not recommended unless it's a new HD or you wish to do so ازالة كل البارتيشنات من الهارد ديسك و استعمالها للينوكس here you can encrypt your Linux partition for more security if you want بامكانك تشفير البارتيشن المثبت فيه اللينوكس choose the Linux programs you wish to use and I highly advice you to install Gnome اختر البرامج التي تريد تنصيبها مع نسخة اللينوكس و انصح بتثبيت الجنوم Congratulation you have Linux Fedora on your box مبروك الان لديك لينوكس فيدورا علي جهازك the next post I'll add Coptic Language & Coptic keyboard
