Ϧⲉⲡⲣ ⲣⲏ̇
The sacred scarab that bush the sun in its way in the sky
which the great king Thutmose III ( Ⲑⲱⲟⲩⲧⲙⲱⲟⲩⲥⲏ̇ⲥ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲄ̅ ) used ‘m as a part of his sacred name

LOTUS

Lotus (Nymphaea Caerulea ) Ⲗⲟⲧⲁⲥ is one of the most beautiful flowers that Ancient Egyptians were very fascinated by that they considered it the source of being in their mythological stories :
there was nothing but only a dark water ,called Noun  then   a Lotus flower came and from it the Sun god Atom came to existence ,and then life began .
in another one
the god Nefertem “The beautiful one who doesn’t close ” also came from Lotus

EYE OF HORUS

symbol of protection, royal power, and good health , used by Egyptian Kings in many ways, put on around their necks , in rings and their clothes  and painted in their palaces , temples and tombs
as the story tells
while Horus was fighting his uncle Sith over the throne of Egypt  Sith manage to take his Eye and left him blind until Thoth The god of wisdom healed him with magic giving him new eyes , and then it became a symbol of good luck , protection and good health  .

HORUS

Horus , Ϩ̇ⲱⲣ, the son of Isis and Osiris :
the story start : the  good king Osiris of Egypt the son of Geb (the god of earth ) and Nut the goddess of heavens .
his brother Seth wanted to rule Egypt so he made up a feast  and while everybody is happy he announced a competition ,
he showed a sarcophagus and announce who ever fits it he wens it
so everybody start to  try it ( just like Cinderella’s shoe ) When Osiris try it Seth and his men closed it and killed him
then they cut him apart to 43 pieces  for the 42 states of Egypt and one Seth send to     Phoenicia
His wife started a long gurney to gather his pieces , with help oh her sister Nepthys and in phoenicia she got some help from Anat , and Astarte (asian goddesses ) ” this part was added in the new kingdom ”
she using her strong magic managed to revive him for one night , in it she get pregnant of his Earl : Horus  .
when he grow up he claimed the throne of Egypt demanding gods to order Seth to give him back the throne of his father .
the gods were divided into two camps
so they start to fight during the fight Horus lost his eye and Thoth healed him  then he fought back and win , the gods give Seth the desert to rule

HARPOCRATE

Harpocrate is the greek adaption of the Egyptian God Horus during the Hellenistic and the roman Era because in that time the Egyptian trinity “Serapis  , Isis , Horus ” became very popular all over the empire , there was a temple of Isis in Roma and she was worshiped with all other gods and many Egyptian artifacts were found in Vella Hadrian those tell the Egyptian culture were global

HIS QUEEN

HORUS ACROSS THE TIMES

Horus lived longer than most of the Egyptian Gods even the kings of the Egyptian pantheon
Ra , Amun , Serabis
maybe because of the dramatic Mythology of his story , the death of his father and the fighting against his evil powerful uncle to claim this crown and throne of the kingdom of his father
and of course because the story of Osiris was played theatrically as a religious ceremony and of course as an entertainment in Abydos
in the Hellenistic era the new hyprid god Serabis inherited the characteristics of Osiris including his wife Isis and his son Horus who became Harpocrate
when Roman came they worshiped him even in Roma as his mother Isis Pharia (for Pharos of Alexandria ) andin many other places in the civilized world those days

Harpocrate from antaria museum ,Turkey

even in Christian era he still exist many Magical papyrus and painting depicted him as a guardian for kids and of course his mother Isis because she was well known as a good magician

in Ancient times she could steal the secret Name of the Mighty God Ra
so they used her in Magical papyrus
Coptic wall painting showing Harpocrate and Toutou

ANCIENT FUN

most of we had found was religious
that may drive us to think ancient Egyptian were fanatics all they think and build are just temples and tombs
but that is very wrong
they had their normal life
even  their naughty life
one of the oldest erotic writings was the #Torino papyrus  that has  sexual positions

AKHENATEN

most of us – including me – prefer more powerful kings, maybe eamses II or the III, may be Thothmose III
for me my favorite king is Ahmose who freed Egypt of the Hycsos .
That was for kings , for era I adore the time of pyramid builders Dynasty 3,4 , and 5 who build those miraculous genius building with insane accuracy just with very primitive simple tools .
So what is making that Heretic weak king : Amenhotep IV , Later Akhenaten so famous and special in Egyptian History ??!.

the revolution of Akenaten Was very Human, The Holy devine king sone of gods ruler of the earth , became a man who is portrayed with all the illness and body deformation that he suffers, even more his human relationship with his family was portrayed in artistic way
just like any average man .

Amun / Amen ,The old God of Thebe as his name tells was hidden god inside dark closed shrines , The Idol was only seen and served by the high priest and the king ,
While the new god Aten was worshiped outdoors in an open temple
was Aten a modified form of The Sun God Re of the Old Kingdom ??
Was he another image of the God Atum / Atem the similarity of the two names is clear ,
was he a foreign god came from Asia for example was he inspired by the Hebrews God Jehovah ??
Or did he inspire the Hebrews ? , the similarity of some psalms and Akhenaten ‘s hymens is ??!.

Akhetaten “Amarna ” ‘s art of was liberated from the formality of Egyptian traditional art ,
The divine king always portrayed as a young strong man , handsome with no body errors , But Akhenaten is shown with feminine like body skinny arms and legs , playing with his daughter and wife

THE GREAT HYMN TO ATEN

The great Hymn to Aten
A Hymn of praise of Her-aakhuti, the living one exalted in the Eastern Horizon in his name of Shu who is in the Aten, who liveth for ever and ever, the living and great Aten, he who is in the Set-Festival, the lord of the Circle, the Lord of the Disk, the Lord of heaven, the Lord of earth, the lord of the House of the Aten in Aakhut-Aten, [of] the King of the South and the North, who liveth in Truth, lord of the Two Lands (i.e., Egypt), NEFER-KHEPERU-RA UA-EN-RA, the son of Ra, who liveth in Truth, Lord of Crowns, AAKHUN-ATEN, great in the period of his life, [and of] the great royal woman (or wife) whom he loveth, Lady of the Two Lands, NEFER-NEFERU-ATEN NEFERTITI, who liveth in health and youth for ever and ever.
He (i.e., Ai, a Fan-bearer and the Master of the King’s Horse) saith: Thy rising [is] beautiful in the horizon of heaven, O Aten, ordainer of life. Thou dost shoot up in the horizon of the East, thou fillest every land with thy beneficence. Thou art beautiful and great and sparkling, and exalted above every land.. Thy arrows (i.e., rays) envelop (i.e., penetrate) everywhere all the lands which thou hast made.

Thou art as Ra. Thou bringest [them] according to their number, thou subduest them for thy beloved son. Thou thyself art afar off, but thy beams are upon the earth; thou art in their faces, they [admire] thy goings. Thou settest in the horizon of the west, the earth is in darkness, in the form of death. Men lie down in a booth wrapped up in cloths, one eye cannot see its fellow. If all their possessions, which are under their heads, be carried away they perceive it not.
Every lion emergeth from his lair, all the creeping things bite, darkness [is] a warm retreat (?). The land is in silence. He who made them hath set in his horizon. The earth becometh light, thou shootest up in the horizon, shining in the Aten in the day, thou scatterest the darkness. Thou sendest out thine arrows (i.e., rays), the Two Lands make festival, [men] wake up, stand upon their feet, it is thou who raisest them up. [They] wash their members, they take [their apparel]
and array themselves therein, their hands are [stretched out] in praise at thy rising, throughout the land they do their works. Beasts and cattle of all kinds settle down upon the pastures, shrubs and vegetables flourish, the feathered fowl fly about over their marshes, their feathers praising thy Ka (person). All the cattle rise up on their legs, creatures that fly and insects of all kinds
spring into life, when thou risest up on them. The boats drop down and sail up the river, likewise every road openeth (or showeth itself) at thy rising, the fish in the river swim towards thy face, thy beams are in the depths of the Great Green (i.e., the Mediterranean and Red Seas). Thou makest offspring to take form in women, creating seed in men. Thou makest the son to live in the womb of his mother, making him to be quiet that he crieth not; thou art a nurse.
in the womb, giving breath to vivify that which he hath made. [When] he droppeth from the womb … on the day of his birth [he] openeth his mouth in the [ordinary] manner, thou providest his sustenance. The young bird in the egg speaketh in the shell, thou givest breath to him inside it to make him to live. Thou makest for him his mature form so that he can crack the shell [being] inside the egg. He cometh forth from the egg, he chirpeth with all his might, when he hath come forth from it (the egg), he walketh on his two feet. O how many are the things which thou hast made! They are hidden from the face, O thou.
One God, like whom there is no other. Thou didst create the earth by thy heart (or will), thou alone existing, men and women, cattle, beasts of every kind that are upon the earth, and that move upon feet (or legs), all the creatures that are in the sky and that fly with their wings, [and] the deserts of Syria and Kesh (Nubia), and the Land of Egypt. Thou settest every person in his place. Thou providest their daily food, every man having the portion allotted to him, [thou] dost compute the duration of his life. Their tongues are different in speech, their characteristics (or forms), and
likewise their skins [in colour], giving distinguishing marks to the dwellers in foreign lands. Thou makest Hapi (the Nile) in the Tuat (Underworld), thou bringest it when thou wishest to make mortals to live, inasmuch as thou hast made them for thyself, their Lord who dost support them to the uttermost, O thou Lord of every land, thou shinest upon them, O ATEN of the day, thou great one of majesty. Thou makest the life of all remote lands. Thou settest a Nile in heaven, which cometh down to them.
It maketh a flood on the mountains like the Great Green Sea, it maketh to be watered their fields in their villages. How beneficent are thy plans, O Lord of Eternity! A Nile in heaven art thou for the dwellers in the foreign lands (or deserts), and for all the beasts of the desert that go upon feet (or legs). Hapi (the Nile) cometh from the Tuat for the land of Egypt. Thy beams nourish every field; thou risest up [and] they live, they germinate for thee. Thou makest the Seasons to develop everything that thou hast made:
The season of Pert (i.e., Nov. 16-March 16) so that they may refresh themselves, and the season Heh (i.e., March 16-Nov. 16) in order to taste thee. 1 Thou hast made the heaven which is remote that thou mayest shine therein and look upon everything that thou hast made. Thy being is one, thou shinest (or, shootest up) among thy creatures as the LIVING ATEN, rising, shining, departing afar off, returning. Thou hast made millions of creations (or, evolutions) from thy one self (viz.) towns and cities, villages, fields, roads and river. Every eye (i.e., all men) beholdeth thee confronting it. Thou art the Aten of the day at its zenith.
At thy departure thine eye … thou didst create their faces so that thou mightest not see. … ONE thou didst make … Thou art in my heart. There is no other who knoweth thee except thy son Nefer-kheperu-Ra Ua-en-Ra. Thou hast made him wise to understand thy plans [and] thy power. The earth came into being by thy hand, even as thou hast created them (i.e., men). Thou risest, they live; thou settest, they die. As for thee, there is duration of life in thy members, life is in thee. [All] eyes [gaze upon]
thy beauties until thou settest, [when] all labours are relinquished. Thou settest in the West, thou risest, making to flourish … for the King. Every man who [standeth on his] foot, since thou didst lay the foundation of the earth, thou hast raised up for thy son who came forth from thy body, the King of the South and the North, Living in Truth, Lord of Crowns, Aakhun-Aten, great in the duration of his life [and for] the Royal Wife, great of majesty, Lady of the Two Lands, Nefer-neferu-Aten Nefertiti, living [and] young for ever and ever.

Thou appearest beautifully on the horizon of heaven,
Thou living Aton, the beginning of life!
When thou art risen on the eastern horizon,
Thou hast filled every land with thy beauty.
Thou art gracious, great, glistening, and high over every land;
Thy rays encompass the lands to the limit of all that thou hast made:
As thou art Re, thou reachest to the end of them;
(Thou) subduest them (for) thy beloved son.
Though thou art far away, thy rays are on earth;
Though thou art in their faces, no one knows thy going.

AKHENATEN 3

when Akheaten collapsed 17 years later after this rebellious movement , Most of the conservative old style priests and their followers thought this heresy is gone for ever , specially when they ruined every thing that they could destroy : Names of the new god , his king and queen (s) ad his new capital Akhetaten .

1st point whatever they did was Just a payment for what the heretic king has done to the old gods specially Amen and his temples , and of course to other old style gods , that include removing their names out of tombs – and that is a very serious crime to disturb the peace of the dead –
2nd point who can blame them after losing their jobs , treasures , and of course overwhelming power :
the holy priests of gods whom the sun rise because of them and the river Nile flood according to them .
the holy star of Isis ” Sepdet ” Sirius which indicate the New Egyptian Year and the flood is determined by them
who tells farmer when to seed , what to seed but them ??
and then this Heretic forbid them all of that , and chased them like criminals .

any way after many centuries the Hymns Akhenaten sang them to his Aten was kept alive till today , or parts of it
The similarity between the great Hymn of Aten and the psalm 104 after it was discovered and translated was very amazing that it drove many to think it was stolen from Aten great Hymn .
for example The well known psychologist Sigmund Freud thinks Moses was Egyptian believed in Aten and transferred his believe to his new people , even more he thought The God Name (Adonai ) is from Aton ,
Well , He is a great psychologist but NOT an archaeologist
in his book he confuses Hur “son of Osir and Isis ” with Hur em akhti one of sun gods
he even ignore the fact that the name Of God Adonai was used later because Jewish made the Older Name Jehovah too sacred to pronounce and became very possessed with this commandment
Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord ((יְהוָ֥ה (Yah·weh) )) thy God in vain
and that is strange that Freud as he himself from a Jewish origin did NOT know that the 10 commandments used the Name Jehovah Not Adonai as he mentioned in his book
Moses and Monotheism

even more , many muslims today think Akhenaten is a prophet in islam many think he is The prophet Idris
others say he is Abram
Any way, However the way the great Hymn of Aten survived and reached many foreign land and stayed alive in hearts and tongue for many centuries and inspired many poets , philosophers , Religious people till now , the deepness , the deep green connection to the nature .
The emotion that Akhenaten poured into words , that many felt and inspired by .

and still with Akhenaten

Every lion is come forth from his den;
All creeping things, they sting.
Darkness is a shroud, and the earth is in stillness,
For he who made them rests in his horizon.
